TaniTokou
TaniTokou Pilot Programme · Sabah

Every local harvest begins with the people behind it.

TaniTokou is being built to help grassroots producers showcase their produce, manage sales more easily, and connect with buyers who value their work.

Why we exist

Good local produce should not be difficult to discover.

Across Sabah, farmers, fishermen, livestock producers and small entrepreneurs create valuable food, products and services. Yet many still rely on personal contacts, word of mouth, local markets and limited sales channels.

TaniTokou begins with a simple purpose: to help local produce reach more people without losing the identity and stories behind it.

The Pilot Programme

We are starting small, so we can learn properly.

The TaniTokou pilot will be carried out with local producers, buyers and communities. We will test simpler ways to:

  • introduce producers and their produce;
  • present prices, quantities and availability clearly;
  • help producers use digital tools;
  • connect local produce with buyers;
  • gather feedback and improve TaniTokou.
Our Approach

Built differently, from the ground up.

Made to be simpler

TaniTokou is being designed for people with different levels of digital experience, including older adults and those who may need clearer layouts, larger controls and more visual guidance.

Centred on local producers

The producer is not merely another listing. Their identity, location, work and story should remain visible.

Built through real feedback

The pilot is not only testing whether the technology works. It is testing whether it genuinely helps the people expected to use it.

The Journey of Local Produce

The journey of local produce begins long before it reaches a buyer.

It begins with land being cared for, time being given and work being carried out every day.

TaniTokou is being built to make that journey easier to see—from the hands of the producer to the people looking for local produce.

01

Produced

Every harvest begins with someone’s knowledge, patience and work.

02

Presented

Producers can showcase their produce with clear information about price, quantity and availability.

03

Discovered

Buyers can find local produce and learn about the people behind it.

04

Improved together

Through the pilot, we will learn from the real experiences of producers and buyers to make TaniTokou more useful.

“Not only bringing local produce into the digital space, but making the work behind it visible too.”

Let us begin this journey together.

TaniTokou is still at an early stage. We are looking for producers, buyers, communities and collaborators who want to help us build something genuinely useful for Sabah.
